The writer is earnest to thesis on this topic because is not intended of give love that both Jesus’ teaching on the ideal attitudes for the Christians according to the gospels and Bamar Buddhists and that both are equal in their values and craving. It is the pure form of love which can bring peace and prosperity to all Bamar Buddhists and that both are equal in their values.
Statement of the Problem
Today, our churches are facing the problem of relationship with one another. Many people tell that “I love God so much” while they neglect to love others. It is God’s commandments. If we really love God we need to show love to our neighbors. To love God and love people must be coexisted within the church. Christianity is the religion of love. New Testament has formed a special word for God’s love “agape”. Agape is selfless love and is self-surrender. Agape is God’s love which forgives sins. This love of God in Christ is what gives everything that is called Christian love its structure. The Christian love derives from God through Jesus Christ. Christian love is selfless and loving- kindness. It creates forgiveness on those who commit sin against us. Jesus had told the religious authorities and his followers stories and parables a bout the good Samaritan. In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus and lawyer talks on the subject matter of love. Here the lawyer asked to Jesus a bout how a person may qualify for eternal life and Jesus replies by referring his questioner to the law Jesus’ answer may sound legalistic, but it is not so when considered in relation to the total content of his teaching. The lawyer had “lost face” by being given this answer and he tried to regain the initiative by asking for a more precise definition of the word “neighbour.” The lawyer asked “who is my neighbour?” Jesus suggests that the real question is rather “Do I behave as a neighbour.” Love is the basis foundation of ideal attitude and it brings compassions, sympathy and harmonious mind with every being or situation. A design for civilization and culture of Buddhists is founded on the sublime ideas of “Metta.” Loving-kindness (Metta) is the opposite of hatred. Metta is generally understood as love. Matta is free from lust, greed and craving. It is the pure form of love which can bring peace and prosperity to all beings. The people of Bamar Buddhism practice repeatedly Metta in their daily living as they can Metta means wishing for the well-being of others. Love is expressions of the ideal attitudes of Jesus and of Buddha. The practice of the ideal attitudes is to touch life deeply so that the kingdom of God becomes a reality. The teachings on the ideal attitudes for people of Buddha and of Jesus Christ are the same in the lives of the people. Our heart with the attitudes love that a heart in good condition is an element of real peace and happiness.
